VOLUNTEERING IN KENYA
VICDA (Volunteer International Community Development Africa) is a Kenyan NGO (non-government organization) devoted to assisting needy Kenyans alongside global partners and selfless volunteers. Since its inception in 2004, VICDA has aided tens of thousands of Kenyans by implementing community development projects, constructing schools, sponsoring education, digging wells and setting up agricultural projects. Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about VICDA’s many programs and ways in which you can get involved.
1st and 15th of Each Month Throughout the Year
This unique opportunity asks volunteers to give their time and energy to help the less fortunate while experiencing Kenya’s rich beauty and culture. Volunteer has an option of working in either of the following programs:
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM PACKAGE
Volunteer Program Fee Inclusive of:
- Pick up from the airport and drop off at the accommodation in one of Kenyan local family either in urban or rural areas;
- Orientation given to volunteer on how to go around Kenya,Kenyan culture and traditions,project/accommodation placements,transport within etc.
- Accommodation in a local Kenyan family or within the project site.
- 24/7 hour coordination by VICDA Team.
- 3 meals a day(Kenyan breakfast and dinner)
Volunteer Fee is Exclusive of:
- Flight
- Travel Insurance
- Vaccinations
- Personal Items (ie,beverages, snacks)
- Any extra transport
- Airport Drop-off

Visit Kenya beautiful Wildlife in National game reserves/parks,kindly see the below information:

Maasai Mara Game Reserve; 3 days 2 nights, games drives, full board accommodation in a lodge, non-residents park entry fees, drivers allowance and park entry fees, vehicle entry fees, transport from and to Nairobi;

Lake Naivasha; 3 days 2 nights full board accommodation, transport from Guest-house accommodation to the lodge and return to JKIA(Jomo Kenyatta International Airport,Nairobi-Kenya) Airport ;

MISSION STATEMENT
Being the connection and intermediary between the two countries, working as a direct link of the Kenyan headquarters and the volunteers in Latin America, to ensure that every one of them is being given the proper tools, support and information they will need in order to participate in VICDA’s projects.

Ser el intermediario entre ambos países (Latinoamérica –Kenia) fungiendo como vínculo directo entre la base de la organización en Kenia y los voluntarios en Latinoamérica, brindándoles el apoyo, información y herramientas que un voluntario necesita para poder participar en los proyectos de VICDA. Volunteer International Community Development Africa (VICDA) es una ONG fundada en Nairobi, Kenia que lucha por asistir y atender las necesidades de los Kenianos a través de proyectos sociales, apadrinamiento de niños y actividades de voluntariado. Podrás armar tu paquete según tus intereses, fechas y disponibilidad dentro de los 365 días del año.

1. Información correspondiente al voluntariado (planes disponibles y “Descubre Kenia”).
2. Aplicación para perfilar el tipo de voluntariado que tu deseas realizar. Es muy importante que podamos tener este formulario lleno antes de las 24h de haber recibo el correo.

Being the intermediary between both countries (Latin America – Kenya) acting as a direct link between the base of the organization in Kenya and the volunteers in Latin America, providing the support, information and tools that a volunteer needs in order to participate in the VICDA projects. Volunteer International Community Development Africa (VICDA) is an NGO founded in Nairobi, Kenya that fights to assist and meet the needs of Kenyans through social projects, child sponsorship and volunteer activities. You can set up your package according to your interests, closes and availability within 365 days of the year.

1. Information corresponding to volunteering (available planes and “Discover Kenya”).
2. Application to profile the type of volunteering you wish to carry out. It is very important that we can have this form filled up within 24 hours of receiving the receipt and the mail.

Child Care & Teaching Program
VICDA place volunteers in different orphanages for childcare support and teaching in primary schools in both rural and urban set up in Kenya.
Childcare support includes:
Taking care of small kids, serving meals, cleaning of the facility, dishes, laundry, playing with kids, helping with homework and any other activities involved.
Teaching:
Helping in teaching English in lower grades, pronunciation and any other activities assigned by the school.
