We help children to get their education, now we need your help.

Investing in education.

We believe in the right to education as a weapon against injustice and inequality. Access to quality education is not only a basic human right, it is a critical component of a foundation for a more productive and happier life.

Give a gift!

We focus on “one to one” or “one to few” type interactions. We do not address societal problems. We don’t tackle projects requiring engineers and scientists. We’ll leave that.

School Projects

VICDA is very active in building schools in various parts of the country, especially in the areas that were affected by post election violence in late 2007.  The IDP children who live in such areas have a right to an education, just like any other child in Kenya.  So far, VICDA has been able to build early childhood development education schools and complete a large primary school for 700 students.

Education program volunteers who volunteer with VICDA through GVN are placed at one of the many schools that VICDA supports.  School types range from pre-school all the way to high school and are found in both rural areas as well as highly populated urban areas, like the Kibera, Lenana and Dagoretti slums of Nairobi.

VICDA (Volunteer International Community Development Africa) is a Kenyan NGO (non-government organization) devoted to assisting needy Kenyans alongside global partners and selfless volunteers. Since its inception in 2004, VICDA has aided tens of thousands of Kenyans by implementing community development projects, constructing schools, sponsoring education, digging wells and setting up agricultural projects. Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about VICDA’s many programs and ways in which you can get involved.
