We believe in the right to education as a weapon against injustice and inequality. Access to quality education is not only a basic human right, it is a critical component of a foundation for a more productive and happier life.
We focus on “one to one” or “one to few” type interactions. We do not address societal problems. We don’t tackle projects requiring engineers and scientists. We’ll leave that.
To make these worthy projects possible, VICDA solicits funds from donors from both the local and international community. VICDA involves donors, volunteers, board members and employees regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, gender or physical disability.

VICDA is very active in building schools in various parts of the country, especially in the areas that were affected by post-election violence in late 2007. Every child has the right to quality education. So far, VICDA has been able to 14 both public primary and High schools in Nakuru County which have been handed to the Kenya government. The average minimum number per school stands at 350 students in primary schools and 200 students in high schools. VICDA has another initiative of child sponsorship for kids from vulnerable families and children institutions.
VICDA (Volunteer International Community Development Africa) is a Kenyan NGO (non-government organization) devoted to assisting needy Kenyans alongside global partners and selfless volunteers. Since its inception in 2004, VICDA has aided tens of thousands of Kenyans by implementing community development projects, constructing schools, sponsoring education, digging wells and setting up agricultural projects. Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about VICDA’s many programs and ways in which you can get involved.
