Agriculture Community Empowerment Program
VICDA has been empowering remote rural small scale farmers through provision of inputs to the farmers for commercial purpose to empower them economically. The organization has partnered with the local manufacturers for ready availability of local market for small scale farmers produce such as sunflower and soya beans. These two main crops are mainly used as cash-crops. This program is currently being implemented in Kenya in different counties. Apparently the program has covered around 409 farmers who represent the number of households who are under the program and are registered as members of the Lomas cooperative society which has been put up under VICDA to enable monitoring of the crops/farming techniques/farmers and having the right structures in place.
